<p>The Marketplace Management Statistician (“MPM Statistician”) will be responsible for creating the yield management system used to optimize the delivery of inquiries and bookings to our customer base. This initiative is crucial to our success going forward, increasing bookings to our commission-based listings and improving the renewal rates of our subscription-based products. Given the potential impact of this role on our sales and revenue objectives, it will receive significant executive-level attention and support. The role will also be highly cross-functional, working with our database, BI, product, development and business teams to create the new tools necessary to make this happen.</p>
<p>The MPM Statistician will work with our data and reporting teams to determine the factors that best predict which listings can most use an inquiry and/or booking; build an optimization tool to select the appropriate listings; and then work directly with our development teams to more prominently showcase that inventory. This selection and optimization process will be A/B tested over time in a test and learn approach led by the MPM Statistician.</p>
<p>Job Requirements/Qualifications</p>
<p>Master&#8217;s degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Mathematics, Econometrics, or a related quantitative discipline.<br />
Prior experience creating yield/revenue management systems strongly preferred, especially if in an e-commerce site optimization capacity.<br />
MPM Statistician must be capable of utilizing highly complex statistical procedures, with demonstrated knowledge of and prior experience with both linear and non-linear optimization models.<br />
Must have exceptional analytical skills, with a background in predictive modeling, data-mining or quantitative analysis.<br />
He/she must also be comfortable working with large amount of data, and have a willingness and ability to find creative solutions when faced with data limitations.<br />
MPM Statistician must be able to communicate effectively to both business and technology teams.<br />
Must have experience with data extraction, data manipulation and expert use of at least one statistical package (R, SAS, Stata).<br />
Knowledge of SQL is also mandatory. </p>

<p><strong>Deputy Media Director of Yes on Proposition 37 Campaign for GMO Labeling</strong></p>
<p>The Yes on 37 California Right to Know 2012 campaign is seeking an experienced writer and researcher for our media team.</p>
<p>The California Right to Know Genetically Engineered Food Act will be on the November 2012 statewide ballot in California. It requires labeling of genetically engineered foods. Currently, there are no laws in California requiring labeling of genetically engineered foods.</p>
<p>Consumers have the right to know what is in our food, and if food is genetically engineered, it should be labeled. A recent poll by the Mellman Group found that 91% of American voters are in favor of labeling genetically engineered foods.</p>
<p>The purpose of our campaign is to empower Californians to make informed choices about what we eat and feed to our families and children.</p>
<p>The deputy media director will be responsible for preparing a variety of written materials, including op-eds, blog and social media posts, fact sheets and talking points. Responsibilities will also include some pitching and relationship-building with reporters. Our media director will supervise the deputy media director.</p>
<p>We prefer that the deputy media director is based in the Bay Area, but we will consider other locations. This is a full-time position through the November election.</p>
<p>Tasks and Responsibilities:</p>

<li>Research and write campaign materials, including op-eds, news releases, story pitches, articles, blog posts, social media posts, talking points, speeches and fact sheets</li>
<li>Participate in the development of media and communication strategy</li>

<p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Expectations:</strong></p>
<p>Education &amp; Experience</p>

<li>A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public or Media Relations, Journalism, English or other related field.</li>
<li>At least 2 years experience in nonprofit communications and media relations or related field with transferable experiences.</li>

<p><strong>Position Summary</strong></p>
<p>Reporting to the Director of Digital Communications, the Digital Communications Specialist is responsible for maintaining online content and communications for YouthBuild USA including youthbuild.org , social media (Twitter, YouTube &amp; Facebook), and email in support of the organization’s overall communications strategy.</p>
<p>The Digital Communications Specialist will be an active member of the Editorial Team and work across departments to ensure that all initiatives of YouthBuild USA are represented online, with a focus on telling the stories of YouthBuild, its work and graduates in an engaging and respectful way.</p>
<p><strong>Scope of Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Ensure consistency and accuracy in content and messaging across all YouthBuild USA web sites, social media channels, and mass emailing campaigns.</li>
<li>Produce and publish unique, dynamic content with a focus on audience engagement.</li>
<li>Maintain accounts on different social media platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Twitter), engaging audiences through regular posting of timely content.</li>
<li>Monitor and engage in YouthBuild-related online conversations.</li>
<li>Work closely with colleagues across the organization to understand the goal, audience, and message of various online campaigns and create plans and content accordingly.</li>
<li>Maintain the organization’s archive or Graduate stories, creating and implementing a system for updating, editing and disseminating.</li>
<li>Travel to YouthBuild-related events to gather written content, take photographs and videos and to cover the event on social media.</li>
<li>Work with Editorial Team and Director of Digital Communications to develop and implement communications and social media strategy.</li>
<li>Regularly report insights gained from social media monitoring, as well as Google Analytics monitoring for web content.</li>
<li>Assist and train staff on content management tools.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Four-year degree in communications, journalism or marketing or equivalent experience.</li>
<li>One &#8211; to two years’ experience in web content management, management of social media channels.</li>
<li>Experience in digital image, video, and audio editing is a plus, but not required.</li>
<li>Excellent writing skills.</li>
<li>Comfort learning new technology on the job.</li>
<li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.</li>
<li>Ability to adhere to YouthBuild USA’s organizational philosophy and multicultural environment</li>
<li>Sense of humor, energetic, organized, works well under pressure, multi-tasking flexibility</li>

<p>The World is Fun (commonly referred to as TWIF) connects local volunteers and businesses with charities, providing fun and unique opportunities for community members to align themselves with important causes.</p>
<p>TWIF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working to engage Seattleites in their 20s and 30s. The organization seeks to strengthen Seattle&#8217;s spirit of community by providing volunteer opportunities and hosting unique social events in local neighborhoods. TWIF caters to the interests of young urbanites in hopes of getting members of this underrepresented demographic involved in local volunteer efforts.</p>

<p>Position<br />
We&#8217;re looking for a talented and driven Social Media Marketing Associate to join our volunteer staff at The World is Fun! Reporting to and in partnership with the Creative Director (Director) the Social Media Marketing Associate will work closely with the Executive Director to develop and implement outreach strategies for The World is Fun via social networking websites. You will be responsible for creating a professional and interesting content to keep our followers engaged and to help increase awareness about our organization.</p>
<p>Responsibilities<br />
- Maintains the official The World is Fun FaceBook page. Continues the FaceBook conversation to engage fans and create on-going conversations.<br />
- Maintains the existing blog. (Web design skills are not required.)<br />
- Tweets regularly and builds followers of the organization.<br />
- Prepares the bi-monthly email newsletters with images and text provided.<br />
- Maintains event posting for events and volunteer opportunities.<br />
- Maintains Flickr account and handles and ensures uploads of event photos.</p>
<p>Qualifications<br />
- Social Media knowledge<br />
- Familiarity with FaceBook, Twitter, and other social media interfaces.<br />
- Writing Skills<br />
- Some Graphic Design knowledge useful.</p>
<p>Compensation<br />
This is a volunteer position. There will be no financial compensation. Our organization is 100% volunteer run. Volunteer will receive experience within this career field and an exceptional letter of recommendation. Estimated Time Commitment is 15 flexible hours per month.</p>
